Leave the Door Open
BEING: Welcoming Without Forcing
DOING: Creating Space Others Can Enter Freely
“The teacher opens the door,
but you must enter by yourself.”
— Chinese proverb
BEING
Presence is not persuasion.
It does not push, pressure, or convince.
It simply leaves the door open.
When you embody Being,
you create an atmosphere of invitation —
others sense spaciousness,
safety,
the freedom to approach without fear of judgment.
You don’t drag people in.
You trust their timing.
You trust their path.
Being says: the door is open.
Enter when you’re ready.
DOING
Today, practice leaving a door open for someone:
Resist the urge to give advice when they’re not asking
Offer presence, not prescription
Say something like:
“I’m here if you want to talk.”
“The invitation is always open.”
“No pressure, take your time.”
Then let go — no expectation, no timeline
This is generosity without control.
Hospitality without agenda.
CLOSING LINE
“You don’t need to walk people through the door.
Just keep it open.”
