Digital Dharma is Transforming
From Writing to Living Practice
Dear friends and fellow travellers,
For the past year, Digital Dharma has been a space of reflection — a meeting point of presence and poetry, of ancient insight and modern life. Together, we’ve explored the rhythm of Being and Doing, walked through cycles of paradox, integration, embodiment, and transmission.
But the time has come for something deeper.
Beginning with the turning of this southern-hemisphere summer, Digital Dharma will evolve from a written series into a living practice stream — a digital sangha guided by the natural rhythms of Aotearoa.
What This Means
1. A Living Practice Stream
Each week will flow with its own theme — silence, courage, tenderness, fire — expressed through:
Daily Drops: small, poetic meditations (readable in a minute)
Daily Threads: deeper reflections that explore the week’s theme
Practice Prompts: simple, embodied invitations you can carry into your day
Rather than more words, this next phase is about rhythm — a shared breathing pattern that reconnects us with life’s pace, season by season.
2. A Digital Sangha
Instead of a social feed, this will be a field of practice.
Each new moon opens an inquiry.
Each full moon, we gather (digitally) in quiet reflection.
The solstices and equinoxes will become our shared waypoints — opportunities to pause, renew, and remember together.
This is not a forum for opinions; it’s a circle of presence.
3. Seasonal and Lunar Alignment
Digital Dharma will now follow the rhythms of this place — Aotearoa — syncing each cycle with the seasons, solstices, equinoxes, and moon phases that shape life here.
Every three months, a new Seasonal Arc will unfold:
Season / Element / Theme / Focus
Summer (Dec-Feb) / Fire / Vitality & Expression / Doing as Offering
Autumn (Mar-May) / Earth / Grounding & Release / The Practice of Descent
Winter (Jun-Aug) / Water / Depth & Stillness / The Return to Silence
Spring (Sep-Nov) / Air / Renewal & Relation / The Rejoining of the World
Why Now
Because practice must evolve with the times.
Because words can only go so far before they must dissolve into lived experience.
Because this land, its tides, and its sky are inviting us to listen again — to move in step with the turning Earth.
What to Expect Next
In early December, we begin our first arc:
Summer: The Dharma of Fire — Vitality and Expression.
You’ll receive:
• A Welcome Transmission for the season
• The first weekly theme synced with the summer solstice and new moon
• Your daily Drops, Threads, and Practice Prompts beginning soon after
The archives of earlier cycles (Being & Doing I–V) will remain available for those wishing to revisit the roots of this journey.
An Invitation
This is no longer just a newsletter.
It’s a shared rhythm — a sangha that breathes together across distance and time zones.
If you choose to stay, you’re not subscribing to content.
You’re entering a practice stream — a flow of stillness and movement, of poetry and presence, guided by the natural cycles of Aotearoa.
Welcome to Digital Dharma, Season One: The Year of Living Practice.
With gratitude and light,
ANU
